NEW RELEASE! Book 2 in The Lone Riders MC Series has arrived! It's launch day for 'Retribution'!

It's finally time to pull on those leathers and straddle that Harley because today is publication day for Retribution, book #2 in The Lone Riders MC Series! If you'd pre-ordered a copy of the book (and quite a few of you did, so thank you for that) then you may have already started the ride, but if not, just pop on over to Amazon (the links are below) to download this next instalment in the lives of the Lone Riders, and start another journey with my fictional biker boys - and girls...

Mia Rose has been sent to Paradise for her own safety; to escape a violent marriage, and a man who will stop at nothing to make sure she never leaves his side. Having lived her life within the confines of The Lone Riders Newcastle chapter in north-east England, the move to California is a new beginning for Mia - it has to be, whether she wants it or not. Because she really doesn't have much choice. But for Charlie Hart – President of the Newcastle chapter, and one of the founding members of The Lone Riders MC – it’s a bittersweet act, exiling Mia to another country. And is sending her there, to Paradise, something he should have thought harder about? Given the secret he’s harboured for almost thirty years…

Ben Salter is the Lone Riders’ lawyer – a man who’s looked after the Paradise chapter’s legal affairs for over five years. But he’s also a man with a past he’s worked hard to put behind him, a past few know the full extent of; a world he knows he should never go back to. But when he’s given the task of helping the club rid Mia of her violent husband, he finds himself being pulled further back towards that world. And closer to the woman he’s supposed to be helping…

Things have settled down for The Lone Riders since Coby Walker took over as President. All is well within a club that’s seen its share of recent troubles, and an air of calm and peace reign over the Paradise compound. But Mia’s arrival kick-starts a chain of events that threaten to unravel that peace. And as Ben’s world slowly starts to change, and Mia’s past catches up with her in the most dangerous way possible, behind the scenes another sinister act is being carefully planned that could rock the Lone Riders all over again as more shocking secrets are revealed, and a terrifying act of retribution sees lives being changed forever…

And if you want to join in the release day celebrations, there's an online launch party going on right HERE over on Facebook - and everyone's welcome! My weight loss journey - how easy was that?

It's a non-book-related post today because, quite frankly, I'm just not feeling the writing vibe this afternoon. So, rather than sitting here faffing about on Pinterest, I thought I'd share a little bit about my recent weight loss... Here goes...

For as long as I can remember I've had a battle with my weight. It wasn't so bad when I was younger because I was a child of the 70s, and back then there were no such things as Playstations or laptops or satellite television, so we were usually to be found outside tearing around on our bikes, or pretending to be Charlie's Angels - and I mean the TV show, not the movie!! Yeah. That was our life back then, kids! We even walked to school! Almost unheard of these days, but we also had no such thing as Facebook or mobile phones, so the only chance we got to catch up with our mates before class was to actually talk to them, face-to-face, on the walk to school.

Anyway, because of this extensive outdoor activity I was never really an overweight child. And we ate some rubbish back then, too, believe me. Once I reached my teens, though, that's when things changed. When diets became a part of my world, and ever since then I have veered from quite overweight to the perfect size 8-10 (4-6 if you're in the US). My weight has been up and down more times than a demented yo-yo! But last year it all kind of came to a head. Both my husband and I knew we'd put on weight - and quite a bit of weight, too - but we'd just used age as an excuse, you know the kind of thing; what's the point in trying to lose weight once you hit 40+? Doesn't your metabolism give up the ghost and nothing shifts anyway? No. That's complete rubbish, and to be quite honest, we were just in denial.

So, last summer, both my husband and I stood on those neglected bathroom scales, faced the terrifying truth (I was almost 11 stone! My heaviest yet!!), and started to do something about it. And now, almost 9 months later, we've both lost over 3 stone each, look better, feel better, and our eating habits have changed in a way that will make sure we won't put that weight back on in a hurry. And it really was quite easy. How? When, in the past, I have faced every diet I've ever undertaken with a feeling of dread, which was why they never really lasted all that long. Well, for starters, losing the weight as a couple was a HUGE advantage. And secondly, I don't think either of us could have done it without the help of a little app called My Fitness Pal

And what's more, it's a FREE app! (Download it HERE).You fill in your details, set yourself a target weight, a goal, and then all you have to do is enter in ALL the food you eat - and they have a MASSIVE database of food, so anything you put in there is almost guaranteed to appear - and it counts up the calories for you, letting you know how many you have spare as the day goes on, and whether or not you're going over.

It also lists all the nutritional information of the food you eat, so you can keep an eye on things like your fat, protein and carbohydrate intake, too. OK, it takes up a bit of time, having to enter in everything you eat, but without that I seriously doubt we would have lost the weight. Because it also educated us about food - about the type of things we were eating that we thought were OK for us, when really they were something we should be substituting. Take bread, for example. We always thought bread was OK. And it isn't exactly bad for you, just quite calorific. But I wasn't going to give it up. So we replaced it with Danish bread - half the calories, just as nice, and it makes cracking toast! To be honest, we didn't actually give that much up. We just cut down. Portion sizes had been a real problem, and one of the things that I think had added to our weight gain. So those were cut down. Instead of binge-eating a whole bar of chocolate at the weekend, I ate a couple of squares a night, therefore spreading the calories around. And I did NOT give up alcohol! No one was taking that pleasure away from me. Basically, as long as you log it all into My Fitness Pal, and keep an eye on the calories, you can eat pretty much what you like, within reason, of course. And exercise needs to play a part. We've bought a treadmill, some weights, and we both exercise regularly. And it's helped. We can both see the changes, and feel the benefits. I feel younger, more alert, more confident. Losing the weight has been the best thing we've done.

And, to keep an even closer eye on things, because neither of us really need to lose any more weight, but we don't want to put any back on, either, we've now bought something called a FitBit - a small flexible bracelet that counts your daily steps, the calories you're burning, etc., and then syncs all that information with My Fitness Pal to give you an even more accurate read-out of your daily exercise and calorie intake.

A FitBit flexible
In terms of a tool that helps you to control your weight, it's an absolute must as far as I'm concerned. Because, this time, I have no intention of re-gaining that weight I've lost. I've reached my ideal weight - just under 8 stone, and back down to a size 8-10 (US 4-6). It's a weight I'm happy with. And I'm staying this size!

However, if all else fails, I can always call on this man, American fitness expert and TV host Jessie Pavelka, to get me back me back on the straight and narrow. And I'm not sure that'd be a bad thing... ;-)

ON SALE! My cruise-themed romcom Bon Voyage is just 99p/$0.99/Euro 0,99 - for a limited time!

Back in the days when I used to write romance of the more fluffy and flirty variety (and where did those days go, huh?), I published this little cruise-themed romcom - Bon Voyage. And now, because we appear to be (allegedly) heading into summer, I thought I'd re-visit this book, and put it on sale for a limited time, just to get people in the holiday spirit.

It's lighthearted, full of northern english humour, and a little bit of fun - not to mention based on just a few of the people I met during those cruises I've been lucky enough to take over the years. You think some of these characters are far-fetched? Believe me, they existed... believe me...

Bon Voyage - Blurb

Thirty-something Geordie girl Aimee Anderson has just been dumped by her fiancé, Robbie – on the night of their engagement party. So, in an attempt to get over both the relationship, and the rather embarrassing way in which it ended, Aimee and her best friend Jemma are escaping the North East of England and going on the holiday of a lifetime which, in their case, is a trip around the Mediterranean on a mid-budget cruise liner. And there’s only one thing Aimee’s determined to do on this holiday, and that’s forget about Robbie and have some fun.

Danny Johnson is one-fifth of 90s British boy band Bon Voyage, and they’re about to make a comeback. In the middle of the Mediterranean. On the same cruise as Aimee. And Aimee used to love Bon Voyage. Aimee used to love Danny Johnson…

Back in the day, Danny had been the band’s “bad boy”, and whilst the years haven’t damaged his looks in any way, his post-pop-star life is in a bit of a mess. About to be divorced from Newcastle party princess and Z-list celebrity wannabe, Davina Black, and harbouring a secret from the past about the real reason Bon Voyage split up, Danny just isn’t sure if being back in a boy band is what he really wants. But one thing he does want is some fun. For the next two weeks, at least.

So, when Aimee finally meets the man of her dreams – literally – could they possibly have some fun together? Or is something – or somebody – about to stand in the way of Aimee having a holiday to remember?

Bon Voyage is a light-hearted rom com; a story of boy bands, broken dreams and, of course, a little bit of romance, out on the ocean wave…

Bon Voyage is currently just 99p/$0.99/Euro 0,99 from Amazon. But only for a limited time!

It's release day for 'Cocktails in Chelsea' by Nikki Moore!

Cocktails in Chelsea

Released 19th March 2015
#LoveLondon Series; eBook 4 (Short Story)
by Nikki Moore

Read this exciting romance series set in London, which has attracted four and five star reviews and been in the Top 100 Short Story and Holiday charts on Amazon and Kobo.

Made in Chelsea?

Nathan Black is on a mission to prove himself. His family may be upper class and his cousin Matt might be a famous music producer, but he’s going to make it on his own. So as soon as he has enough money set aside, he’s quitting his bar-tending job on the King’s Road and opening up his own cocktail bar. He hasn’t got time for love, and definitely not with the spoilt Chelsea Princesses who flirt with him shamelessly every night. But is there something a bit different about the pretty blonde who’s just walked in?

Bournemouth girl Sofia Gold is reluctantly visiting old childhood friends in London for Easter weekend. Keenly aware she’s not part of their glamorous world, she’s more comfortable riding a surfboard than wearing designer dresses and towering heels… although she’s always had a soft spot for cocktails.
It’s never really bothered Sofia that she’s ‘one of the boys,’ and that her romantic experiences have been amazingly unspectacular, so when she meets gorgeous Nathan, why does she find herself faking an accent and pretending to be a London socialite? It can’t be anything to do with impressing him, can it? After all, she’s only in the capital for a few days…

But one impulsive kiss later, they both find themselves wishing for things they didn’t know they wanted.

Spring in Chelsea – will love blossom?

So why the biker romances...?

To some people, my foray into the world of MC Romance may seem like a bit of a sudden one. I mean, I've written everything from sexy, Hollywood-themed bonkbusters to light-hearted romantic comedies, to a sweet little Christmas novella, but I've never really strayed into the slightly darker side of romance - until now. But why the biker romances? Is that purely because last summer we binge-watched 'Sons of Anarchy'? Well, that show did give me the kick up the backside I'd needed to finally write the kind of book I'd wanted to write for a long time, but the interest has always been there, for me. I've always been a bit of a frustrated biker chick (to the despair of my mother, who would much rather I'd been a Victoria Beckham clone), and I've always had a fascination with motorbikes - in particular, Harley Davidsons - and the men who ride them; the world they inhabit. It's always been there. I just wasn't brave enough to take the plunge and write those stories that had been sitting at the back of my mind for a while now. So I carried on writing the romcoms and the more conventional contemporary romances, even though I longed to try something just a little bit different.

I've always had a fascination with Harleys...

You see, I'm not and never have been a "girlie" girl. I mean, okay, I have a strange love of the colour pink, and I have no idea where that's come from but I might incorporate it into a tattoo one day. I've always been one to lean more towards the more "tomboyish" element inside me. For instance, when I was a kid I always wanted a chopper, but I never got one because my parents thought it was more of a boys' bike. Still gutted to this day that I never got to own one of those... And I have always wanted to ride a motorbike. The closest I've got to that, so far, is riding a snowmobile in Lapland a few years back, and I absolutely loved that experience. And all that did was fuel my fascination with motorbikes. But it's always been something I kind of pushed aside, because, in reality, I'm one of life's painfully shy people. And that world of bikes and beards and MCs was nothing but a distant dream for me. A world I felt I could never inhabit, even though a huge part of me would have loved to experience it, if only for a short time.

But, now that I've been writing for a while, and my confidence has grown a lot over the years, I can embrace the joys of what being a writer means - it means I can inhabit my own world. I can live out those dreams I didn't dare to think about before; be the people I want to be inside a place I've created. And that's what I did when I wrote Revolution, book #1 in the Lone Riders MC Series, which was released last October.

It was a book I just adored writing, because it was as if, suddenly, every fantasy, every hidden dream I'd always had about this world I couldn't get close to before was finally being allowed to run free!

Now, I'm still a romance author, don't get me wrong. And despite my love of tattoos (and, yes, I do have some of my own), heavy rock music, football and motorbikes, I still love the idea of romance. It's just that, the kind of romance in the Lone Riders series may not be the conventional kind, in some peoples' eyes. There are no hearts and flowers in these latest books of mine. People do fall in love, but the way that happens, and the path on which their journeys take them may not be one everyone feels comfortable with. But to be able to explore a slightly edgier side of romance - and to write something with a bit of action in it! - it's a dream come true for me, as an author. My Lone Riders books are quite different to most of my other novels in that they are darker - quite a lot darker. The language is tough, the action - and sometimes the sex - can be hard, even verging on violent; but beneath it all there's still a love story there. I'm just telling it the way I want to tell it; the way my characters want to tell it.

So, my foray into the world of MC Romance hasn't really been a spur-of-the-moment thing just because I became slightly obsessed with Charlie Hunnam on a Harley... I mean, let's face it, who wouldn't be? But, no, it wasn't all down to him. I was always more of a Chibs girl myself, anyway... Sorry. Got a bit sidetracked there... The reason I started writing MC Romances was because I dared myself to take another, new direction in my writing journey, and see where that one takes me. And because I love creating hot, sexy, tattooed bad boys, and strong, sassy, kick-ass biker babes. What other reason do I need?
